What is your main extracurricular activity--why is it important to you?
I am a chief editor of InRealTerms (IRT), a student-run newsletter from the Cornell Economics Society that provides a weekly roundup of the most important stories in economics. IRT is important to me because it allows me to indulge in my passion for economics and play an active role in helping to foster a richer economics community at Cornell.
What was your most profound turning point while at Cornell?
Deciding to enroll in the Cornell in Washington program gave me the opportunity to have a White House internship where I was able to work alongside brilliant economists and pick up hard skills that are difficult to learn through coursework. The experience cemented my interest in economics.
What do you value about your liberal arts education?
I've had the flexibility to take several really interesting classes outside my major, such as in philosophy, meteorology, nutrition, and agriculture, which helped broaden my interests and exposed me to different lenses with which to look at the world.
