Jorgen Harris, Ph.D.’19, Honored with the General Mills Award for Exemplary Graduate Teaching

Cornell students and faculty members were recognized at ILR’s 24th Annual McPherson Honors and Awards Dinner on May 9th, 2017. This award ceremony is named for James E. McPherson, assistant dean and director of the Office of Student Services at ILR from 1983 to 2002. Students and faculty were rewarded for exceptional academic scholarship, leadership and service. Faculty members were awarded based on student nominations and supporting letters and seniors set to graduate with honors were also acknowledged during the ceremony.

Jorgen Harris was honored with the General Mills Award for Exemplary Graduate Teaching at the awards dinner on April 9th. Harris is a Ph.D. job candidate with research interests in Labor Economics, Public Economics and Economics of the Family. He has recently taught Introduction to Microeconomics in the Cornell Prison Program and was a teaching assistant for ECON 2400, Economics of Employment and Wages and ECON 6100, Graduate Microeconomic Theory.
