The arc of educational continuity and inspirational teaching was celebrated May 22 at the 31st annual Merrill Presidential Scholars convocation in Willard Straight Hall. Thirty-four seniors – among the very best of the Class of 2019 – honored beloved, guiding-light high school teachers and inspirational Cornell faculty members.

The economics department will welcome Ariel Rubinstein for its annual George Staller Lecture Oct. 28. “Ariel Rubinstein is one of the world’s most prominent economic theorists, with seminal work in game theory,” said Kaushik Basu, C. Weiss Awards were announced Oct. 18 by President Martha E. Pollack in a report to the Cornell University Board of Trustees.
